🐾 Puppies & Pastries 🍩

Every Saturday 9am-10am—FREE Puppy Socialization & Confidence Building at Companion Animal Center

Raising a puppy takes a village—and we're here to help. Join us for Puppies & Pastries, a FREE weekly puppy social designed to help young dogs build confidence, develop healthy social skills, and create positive experiences during one of the most important stages of their development.

Whether you're a first-time puppy owner or an experienced dog parent, Puppies & Pastries provides a fun, welcoming environment where puppies can safely explore, learn, and play while their people enjoy pastries, and the opportunity to connect with other local puppy families.

At Companion Animal Center, we believe socialization is about much more than simply meeting other dogs. Our goal is to help puppies develop into confident, resilient companions who can comfortably navigate the world around them.

During Puppies & Pastries, Your Puppy:

  • Will enjoy supervised off-leash play with other puppies of similar age and size

  • Practice healthy social interactions and communication skills

  • Experience new sights, sounds, surfaces, and environments

  • Build confidence through age-appropriate enrichment activities

  • Learn positive handling experiences that support future veterinary and grooming visits

  • Explore safe obstacles and confidence-building exercises

  • Develop important life skills through guided socialization

Why Early Socialization Matters

The first few months of a puppy's life play a critical role in shaping future behavior and confidence.

  • Positive exposure to new people, dogs, environments, sounds, and experiences helps puppies:

  • Develop confidence in unfamiliar situations

  • Reduce fear and anxiety later in life

  • Build healthy social skills

  • Improve adaptability and resilience

  • Learn appropriate canine communication

  • Create positive associations with handling and care

Our experienced team helps ensure each puppy has safe, positive experiences while learning at their own pace.

Puppies must:

  • Be between 8 and 24 weeks of age

  • Have received age-appropriate veterinary care

  • Be current DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations (based on what is recommended for your dog’s age)

  • Be healthy and free of contagious illness

Children are welcome when accompanied by a dedicated supervising adult.
