The Daycare Details
Daycare at the Companion Animal Center is offered through simple monthly memberships designed to support consistency and make planning easy. Memberships renew automatically each month, with included daycare credits available for use within that billing cycle; unused credits expire at the end of the month and do not carry over. Memberships may be canceled at any time before renewal, with no cancellation fees, no notice requirements, and no long-term commitments.
Daycare is offered Monday through Saturday; Sundays are reserved for special events. All dogs must complete a Meet & Greet evaluation day before attending daycare. If your dog has not yet completed a Meet & Greet, please submit the Daycare Enrollment form on our website to get started. Once your dog has a successful Meet & Greet, you’ll be able to request daycare dates through the reservation app.
Near the end of every day, you’ll receive a daycare report card sent through our app. The report card gives you a summary of the dog’s day, the 4 structured enrichment activities they enjoyed and our observations on their energy level and health.
All daycare clients are required to attend at least once per week to support each dog’s success in our program. Consistent attendance helps dogs stay familiar with the environment, build lasting relationships with staff and peers, and fully benefit from our EPIC structure. When attendance is random, dogs can experience unnecessary stress—much like being the “new kid” every visit—leading to social confusion and difficulty settling in. Regular participation, on the other hand, creates predictability, reduces anxiety, improves behavior, and allows dogs to truly enjoy their day. We understand that life happens, and reasonable exceptions may be made for illness, injury, or temporary schedule changes, but routine attendance is key to a happy, confident daycare experience.
Spay/Neuter Policy:
We accept intact male dogs into Daycare, however they are held to the same behavioral standards as neutered males and if their intact status becomes an issue we may ask that they be neutered before returning to daycare. We do not accept intact female dogs in boarding or daycare.
General Health & Senior Dogs
Owners must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions or behavioral issues upon registration. We can only provide services to dogs in good health and free from contagious illnesses. Dogs age seven (7) and older may be at increased risk for age-related medical issues during daycare or boarding. As part of our standard client agreement, owners acknowledge these risks and agree to notify Companion Animal Center of any veterinary-diagnosed medical conditions. For boarding services, to help senior dogs remain comfortable during their stay, we recommend adding a Senior Care Package, which includes an additional soft bed and a rubber mat to provide extra support and improved traction.
Required Vaccinations: All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. Required documentation must be provided prior to daycare or boarding stay. We do not require a waiting period after vaccines before the visit to our center, dogs can be vaccinated up to the day before attending daycare.
DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)
Rabies
Bordetella (Canine Cough)
Flea and Tick Prevention:
Monthly flea and tick preventative is required during April-NovemberPuppies Over 12 Weeks:
Puppies have a critical socialization window when less than 6 months old. We strongly believe—and veterinarians we’ve consulted with, concur—the benefits of early socialization outweigh the risks of incomplete vaccinations. So we accept puppies with proof of their first Distemper & Parvo shot and a clean fecal test.

What does your dog’s daycare visit look like?
(spoiler alert—it’s EPIC!)
Our enrichment is not a bonus—it’s the foundation of everything we do. Every daycare day at Companion Animal Center is guided by our EPIC Enrichment framework: Engagement, Play, Instinct, and Comfort. This structured, intentional model ensures your dog receives a healthy balance of mental stimulation, physical activity, and emotional connection—because tired isn’t enough. We aim for fulfilled. Each day follows a carefully crafted schedule that blends active learning with intentional rest. No two days are exactly the same, but every day follows a consistent, safe, and enriching rhythm your dog will grow to love.
How do you know if your dog is enjoying daycare? Near the end of every day, you’ll receive a daycare report card sent through our app. The report card gives you a summary of the dog’s day, the 4 structured enrichment activities they enjoyed and our observations on their energy level and health.
“E”= Engagement
Introducing new textures, smells, sounds, and sights to promote confidence
The Engagement pillar of our EPIC Enrichment framework is built on the belief that enrichment only has value if it matters to the dog. Simply adding toys or activities isn’t enough—what counts is capturing their interest and engaging their mind. By thoughtfully introducing dogs to new textures, smells, sights, and sounds in a calm, controlled environment, we help them build confidence, reduce fear, and truly thrive.
Examples of Engagement Enrichment:
Dig pits with buried sensory objects and textures
Scented bubbles for visual and olfactory stimulation
Textured walkways (gravel, turf, rubber mats, balance beams)
Ball pit play paired with scent or food-based enrichment
Time at our industry leading “scent wall”
“P”= PLAY
Building Confidence, Communication, and Healthy Energy Release
Dogs are social learners. In the EPIC Enrichment framework, Play is more than just letting dogs run around—it’s a structured, purposeful part of your dog’s growth. Play supports both social development and physical health, helping dogs build confidence, communication skills, body awareness, and emotional regulation through movement and interaction.
Examples of Play Enrichment:
Pack play in carefully matched peer groups (by size, age, and play style)
Dog playgrounds with ramps, tunnels, and platforms
Obstacle courses and guided movement games
Structured games of fetch or tug with impulse control
Lure courses for short sprints and focused chase play
Splash pool and water play during warm weather
“I”= Instinct
Engaging the brain with problem-solving tasks, scent work, and purposeful “jobs”
Dogs are wired to sniff, search, dig, chase, and solve problems—the Instinct pillar of our EPIC Enrichment gives dogs the opportunity to engage their brains and bodies in meaningful ways, we help reduce frustration, build confidence, and promote a calm, focused mindset.
Examples of Instinct Enrichment:
Lure course navigation with directional and confidence-building challenges
Rotating puzzle toys and brain games
Scent work with smells (e.g., mint, lavender, anise)
Outdoor scavenger hunts and foraging trails
Digging zones with sand pits and buried toys
Nose-targeting and beginner scent detection games
Structured fetch focused on control, patience, and purposeful retrieval
“C”= Comfort
Creating Comfort Through Connection, Rest, and Ritual
In the EPIC Enrichment framework, Comfort means more than cuddles—it’s about cultivating trust, security, and emotional balance through intentional moments of calm, connection, and care.
Examples of Comfort Enrichment:
Weighted blankets and orthopedic beds for restorative rest
Calming suction-based lick mats and frozen enrichment trays
Snuffle mats and food-based scent trails that support foraging instincts
Frozen treat toys to encourage calm chewing during downtime
Quiet nap sessions with soft lighting, nature sounds, or calming music
Story time-style reading with a handler for bonding and auditory comfort
Rotating scent walls to create a quiet area for dogs to decompress with instinctual engagement
You’ve got questions — we’ve got answers!
-
Our lobby offers a full view of our indoor and outdoor play areas through full view glass windows. For the wellness and safety of dogs in our care, we do not offer tours beyond the lobby. Dogs in our care grow familiar with our staff, so having unknown people walking through the building would be overstimulating and disruptive to their Fear Free care. Take a look at our website photos and videos for a look at our suites and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

The simple answer is…..our daycare INCLUDES enrichment—no extra cost!
Every daycare day is built around our EPIC Enrichment Framework: Engagement. Play. Instinct. Companionship. We don’t just aim to tire dogs out—we strive to fulfill them. Each day follows a purposeful routine blending physical activity, mental challenges, emotional connection, and restful breaks—all tailored to your dog’s unique energy, personality, and social style.
No two days look exactly the same, but every day follows a rhythm your dog can rely on. To keep you updated on your dog’s daycare days, you’ll get a report card summarizing their structured enrichment activities and energy level for the day!

Yes—for many dogs, it can be a game changer.
At Companion Animal Center, our EPIC Enrichment Daycare is more than just playtime—it’s structured care designed to help dogs thrive emotionally, physically, and socially. While not every dog is a perfect fit for group play, most benefit greatly from regular daycare in a safe, well-managed environment.
Benefits of Daycare:
Mental & Physical Stimulation: Daily enrichment helps reduce unwanted behaviors like barking or chewing by keeping your dog’s mind and body engaged.
Energy Outlet: Supervised, cage-free group play gives dogs a chance to stretch, run, and let out their zoomies in a healthy way.
Separation Anxiety Support: A stimulating routine and the presence of caring staff help dogs feel more comfortable being away from home.
Safe Socialization: Dogs interact with peers of similar size and temperament, always under close supervision. Dogs who prefer solo time receive individualized enrichment and affection.
Note: Dogs with reactivity or a history of aggression may not be suitable for daycare. If you're unsure, let’s talk. We may recommend training or alternative care before enrollment.
-
We recommend incorporating daycare into your dog’s routine as often as they seem to enjoy daycare! Most dogs attend 2–3 times per week, with some joining us up to 5 days. Regular attendance supports stability, social connection, and consistent exercise—all essential for a happy, well-adjusted dog. It also helps your pup build lasting bonds with familiar friends (both canine and human!), making each visit feel like home. If we feel like your dog is becoming overwhelmed with attending daycare to frequently, we’ll definitely tell you so we can change your dog’s daycare package to what suits them best!
-
Just your dog, secured by a collar and leash. Unless medically necessary, we don’t recommend bringing a lunch time meal for your dog. The risks of bloat when a dog does not rest after a meal is something we take seriously, plus your dog will get plenty of little treats scattered throughout the day so he wont be playing on a empty tummy…but we don’t want them playing with a full tummy.
-
Yes! However, all of your dogs must complete a Meet & Greet to be admitted into our EPIC Enrichment Daycare.
-
For the safety of dogs in our care and our staff, we do not have cameras available for public viewing. However you are welcome to call or message us through our app at any time to check in on how your dog is doing. You’ll receive a daily report card providing you with a summary of your dog’s day and a photo. We also frequently post photos and videos on our social media page to share the fun!
-
In daycare we occasionally accept intact male dogs, however they are held to the same standard behavior requirements as all other dogs. If your dog being intact becomes a distraction for other dogs, your dog engages in ‘marking’ indoors or presents a safety concern, we may require your dog to be neutered before returning to daycare. We do not accept intact female dogs.
-
All breeds are welcome here! Every dog must pass the meet & greet evaluation and are held to the same behavior standards while visiting our facility, regardless of breed.
-
If your dog does not attend the full number of daycare days in a month, the unused days do not roll over. So you must utilize all daycare days each month. We understand life happens though and if you need to pause your daycare membership for up to 30 days, let us know. You can also track your daycare days within our app and we’ll remind you if your unused days appear to be accumulating during a month.
